Riding and showing you MTD Spider 91 SD with Tecumseh 12 horsepower engine on it. It is a nice mower! It also works fine! By the way, it’s carburator is also fine! I have no complaints about the Tecumseh.

Question by Charles D: 18 Hp MTD Lawn Mower Won’t start?
Proper pre -start proceedure followed. When ignition is in start position-solenoid makes clicking noise , but no start. Starter is brand new as well as battery and battery shows full charge. Cleaned terminal to new starter and fuse is not blown. Frustrated..Please advise…To weak from surgery to push mow… Thanks …Charles

THIS IS JUST MY LAY MAN OPINION

TRY PUTTING GAS

I THINK IT IS BETTER TO HAVE A GAS OPERATED MTD

IT GETS BETTER MILEAGE AS YOU MOW

OR MAYBE YOU NEED A TUNE UP

DID YOU CHECK THE CARBURATOR?

MY HUSBAND IS A GARDENER — AND SOMETIMES WHEN HIS LAWNMOWER GETS STUCK — HE USUALLY CHECK THE CARBURATOR

HE HAS A PUSH AND IT HAS A SPONGE LIKE CARBURATOR

ALSO YOU MIGHT NEED A GAS PRIMER

I THINK THAT ALL MTD ARE GAS OPERATED

IT TAKES A LOT OF CLEANING UP THE GRASS OFF THEN HAVE IT IN THE GARAGE OR A STORAGE TO CHARGE UP

SO BEST IF GAS OPERATED
