Question by latent: My gas lawn mower dies 2 seconds after I start it up. What’s wrong?
After I start it up, the motor just dies. I have gas in it. I can’t figure it out.

Clean the air filter with starter fluid. Take out the foam and spray out the gunk. Reinstall.
Spark plug
Check the fuel filter,line,cap for a clog.
New plug, new air filter, change oil but don’t overfill.
It could be several things. A bad spark plug or maybe a clogged air filter.
check your carb
The carbs in those things are made to keep the engine a constant speed as you vary the load. They get gummed up and a diaphragm inside them tears sometimes. It’s a good bet the carb is the problem when you can start it with the choke but it won’t stay running.
