Lawn Mower Repair Valve Adjustment

In this video I will show you how to adjust the valves on an overhead valve lawn mower engine. The valves need to be adjusted every year.

Here is my home made 12 v generator… found the engine in the trash..Works Great!!!

Question by bkcrum: How can I flush diesel fuel out of a gasoline lawn mower engine?
Is it possible to flush out diesel fuel in a gasoline lawn mower engine without buying a new lawn mower?

Any recommendation would be appreciated.

I would say contact your local mower repair service center and see ifthey have any ideas. You should be able to drain the tank and the carb and be all set. I dont think the deisel will do any damage but it may run funny at first.

    Good start, well done, just a tip, install a switch between your warning light and the battery, this deactivates the fields of the alternator and takes the load off when starting, this will make it a lot easier, when the engine starts flick the switch and you will see the warning light flash once and you will be generating, if you are unsure about this, ask an automotive electrician to help you with the wiring setup, Hope this suggestion helps, Goodluck.

    why dont you use your generator to do hydrogen production, and then run the hydrogen back to the engine to power the engine, then you have 100% free electric!

    Well done. My buddy built one using an 11 horse Tecumseh horizontal electric start motor and an old GM alternator. It makes 14 volts at an idle. We will be testing its practical use while camping this weekend.

    a motor in a vertical position works less harder. facing down – that is. especially if it is in the rotation of the earth. Tornadoes spin clockwise.

    Awesome job! Had any problems with the alternator wearing out from being run vertically? I’ve been wondering if that would be a problem since they’re normally meant to be in a horizontal position.

    yeah when it’s not powering enything. when it has to power something (like a battery) it creates a macnetic field. wich generates resistance. If it was true wat you say you could generate free electricity. But that’s not possible

    What? its not like the alternator is hard to rotate what so over the rotor spins very freely in the case unless the things a junker and is rusty to shit, but then it wouldnt work. sooo

    if you know about these engines ?
    you would know that the alum flywheel is not heavy enuff
    to act as a real flywheel. The orig. mower blade is the real flywheel. So without the flywheel [the pully is not enuff]
    your engine is out of time and pre-ignition rips the cord out of your hand. For the best/longest lasting engine for this project. Use a motor with a cast iron flywheel not aluminum.

    there is a 3 position switch, down is ignition off, middle is igniton on, and all the way up is alternator regulator turned on.. .so no way to excite the alternator without the engine running first :)

    great vid thx. I just got on the 15 amp HF wagon. Saw a vid earlier there is another piece of elctronics that captures the excess voltage and amperage the controller is blocking during peak. the volt/amp/watt calculation doesnt work o
